Bachata Classes

Covid-19 Policy

It is obligatory to have a recent lateral flow test (not older than 24h) as a condition of entry. A vaccination certificate alone is not enough. You can prove your negative result, by uploading it on the government website HERE. Then you can bring a copy of the confirmation text message or email to show it at the door (printed or electronic on your phone).

Weekly Bachata classes for the academic year 2021/22 are taught by the awesome teachers Sergio and Ellie and will  take place on Thursdays during term time  at the St Columba’s Church.

There are 3 different classes for 3 different levels:

7:00-8:00 pm Beginner
8:00-9:00 pm Improvers
9:00-10:00 pm Intermediate

Classes are available to everyone; both university students and non-students are welcome. Society membership is not required to attend classes (but certainly beneficial!).

St Columba’s URC is located on Alfred Street (OX1 4EH), just off High Street in central Oxford.

If you are coming on foot, walk from Carfax Tower down High Street, and take the turn on the right just before the Ivy restaurant. The St Coluba’s Church is about 20 metres down Alfred Street, on the right. If you find yourself next to The Bear Inn then you have missed it!

If you are visiting by car, short-term parking spaces can be found on streets nearby or at the various city-centre car parks (such as at the Westgate Shopping Centre) for longer stays. However, if you are coming from outside of the ring road, it is recommended to use one of Oxford’s Park & Ride services.

If you have a disabled parking permit there are a few suitable spaces on Blue Boar Street, just around the corner from the front entrance.

Please note: You cannot drive along High Street to get to Alfred Street until after 6:30 pm.
